The HHS Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIR) program, based out of the HHS IDEA Lab, recruits external talent to fill crucial skill-set gaps on teams at the Department of Health and Human Services. During a 13 month tour of duty, EIRs have the unique opportunity to apply their entrepreneurial abilities in a government setting, tackle pressing health and human services challenges, and help foster a culture of innovation within HHS. EIRs also gain access to the internal and external HHS IDEA Lab alumni network. Most HHS EIRs have come from non-government backgrounds.
